As we discussed in our previous post about CPT codes<\/a>, current procedural terminology (CPT) codes are a set of codes used to categorize medical services and procedures, and are frequently used for billing purposes. CPT codes have been in effect since 2018, and the American Medical Association (AMA) recently made some changes to them in 2022. The CPT codes most commonly used in remote patient monitoring<\/a> (RPM) are CPT 99091, CPT 99453, CPT 99353, CPT 99457, and CPT 99458.<\/p>\n

The Medicare Physician Fee Schedule<\/a> has been released for 2023, and below we\u2019ll go through the average reimbursement rates for each of the five major RPM billing codes. When reading, it\u2019s important to note that these are averages, and may vary by region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
