However, although the risk of contracting COVID-19 and suffering intense symptoms is no longer an issue at the forefront of our minds, COVID-19 is still affecting many people long after the fact.<\/p>\n<h3>What is Long Covid?<\/h3>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/long-term-effects\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American CDC<\/a>, Long Covid (or Post-COVID) occurs when someone who previously contracted the COVID-19 virus suffers from long-term effects after their recovery. Long Covid can include a varying spectrum of health problems, such as chest pain, sleep problems, and life-interfering fatigue.<\/p>\n<h3>Who is likely to be affected by Long Covid?<\/h3>\n<p>Though anyone who has previously contracted COVID-19 has the potential to develop symptoms of Long Covid, the condition is more likely to affect those who experienced a more severe bout of Covid infection. Ongoing research also suggests that those with underlying conditions and those who are unvaccinated are more likely to report Long Covid.<\/p>\n<h3>Diagnosing Long Covid<\/h3>\n<p>If you believe you might be suffering from Long Covid, it\u2019s best to make a visit to your physician.
